Camel racing in Somaliland

Postby MrPrestige » Mon Jun 17, 2013 10:35 am

How come this type of sport is not exported to Somaliland? As we know Somaliland and Somalia have the most camels in the entire world. I think it
would be a fun sport if it was exported into Somaliland, the No.1 , No.2 , No.3 winners would have a chance to win hefty prizes in cash, a lot of the
nomads who know how to ride a camel would compete after training one of their camels ahead of the competition. Instead of a robot jockey like in some
parts of Qatar, real jockeys could ride the camels to the finish line in Somaliland. All it takes is building a suitable camel racing track, hold competitions
and voila you got a national favorite. This would also create jobs.

What do you guys think?

No camels are there to be eaten and to drink their milk
Leave this sport to the horses.

because its not a proper sport sxb. Besides we as somalis only recognise few of the coventional sports as actual sports, namely football, basketball, athletics and boxing.

wiyeer Most Somalis back home don't know what a fun sport is, they need to explore more. I rode a camel in the UAE desert it was cool. Hargaysaay
many Somaliland camels are slim built, even if many are heavy, we can import some slimmer ones from Arabia to breed with the local camels to
have super race camels.

Girls Relax, Camels will not take your place. Besides Hodan there are not many horses in Somaliland in comparison to millions of camels.

wiyeer Is that archery?

Hargaysaay The Somaliland camels are actually similar to the Arabian camels, they have single hump. This is some of the Sacad Yoonis camels
called Geela yaaca.

to answer your earlier question, I was talking about a using rifles.

Sxb no one has got cuqdad its just that you seem to mention "sacad younis" in most of your topics regardless of the relevence.
In this particular topic for instance, you were talking about introducing camel riding in Somaliland. Why did you feel we needed to know those camels belonged to "sacad younis". Sacad Younis inaad tahay iyo waxay yihiin cidi kuguma haysatee just relevance
