Sheikh Aw-Barkhadle, that's where i was born. I used to play in the baali as a kid. There's a well there too and my habaryar fell in there once. I used to see people clean up his grave and burn foox on the dabqaad. There used to be huge alabari too...people came from all over the region.

Xplaya how sure are you Yusuf baqdadi al Kaynun and barqadle are 2 different persons why do you think the isaaq would have mixed the 2 identities Qawdhan ducaale is referring to his maternal lineage of the Ciidagale mothered by the daughter of Yusuf baqdadi. I still think the alif la kor dhabay sheikh and Yusuf baqdadi the saint who lived around the same time as sheikh isxaaq. But one thing is strange about this story. People say barkhadle wa shalay some people say historians but what is their proof waaan maqli jiray mar walba marka yusuf barkhdla la so qaado people say wa shalay and not 11 century

The Isaaq never mixed the tow , from at least the pre 1930's no isaaq confused Yuusuf Aw Barkhadale with Yuusuf Al Baghdaadi. I quoted Curttenden who travalled around that area in the 1840's , he described the tomb and identified Aw Barkhadle as a Garxajis saint not a migrant Arab. When Qowdhan Ducaale referring to the saint in his poetry he regrads him as a ciidagale saint not as a maternal uncle but as a an ancestor.

Eray kalana waa Ciidagale midan ku dheereeyey
Sheekh Yuusuf waa laga dhabqay ee dhab u siyaareeya
Culimada wankii dhaban leh iyo dhebi-cadkaw sooca .

If you pay close attention to southern myth regarding Yuusuf Al Baghdaadi the southern have more of it then the Isaaq , in fact the Habar Gidir claim to be the decendant of that Yuusuf through his daughter, the Raxanweyn claim he is buried among them and he preached among them.

and finally, what Arab can pronounce the sound " dh" that's uniquely Somali. There is no way a non Somali can coin such phrases as :

Alif la kor dhabay
alif la hoos dhabay et.c

No he was not from Zeila , and yes he was known as Yuusuf Al-Baghdaadi as late as the 1800's. Read Richard Burton mention of him, he was told to him by the local Zeila genealogist , that his name was Yuusuf Al-Bahgdaadi and that he came about 450 years ago ( around the 1400 A.D) etc. for the last time don't confuse the tow Mullah, you have not refuted anything so far.

Only due to the kindness of Isaaq's and the misfortune of the Habar gider has your state survived 16 years. I'm just hoping the Habar Gider unity cause those boys know how to make you cry real bad..
