Its sad that people are getting so excited over this, somethings that utterly inconsequential. This is nothing more than political posturing designed to garner support & votes from the local Somali community for the Labour councillors. As far as S/L is concerned this debate is meaningless and inconsequential.

On a side note though there was almost a civil war between the Reer SL of Bristol over this.
Those who thought it was pointless and those who thought the posturing was worth it.

May 18 is being held in two different hotels because of the number of people turning up
as far as I know it had nothing to do with any beef I could be wrong though
The Somali community is huge in Bristol nowadays

The beef was should the petitioning of Bristol Council and a xaflad to celebrate it be carried out.
Most people however were against this and thought that we should just hold our normal xaflads like we do every year and forget
the Bristol council thing.

Anyway the beef was sorted when we got wind of some shitty minority reer xamars who were countering
the group who wanted to petition the city council.

It was then decided by Odayaasha Bristol that both events will be held to show unity :sland:
