Than they cant be classified as Somalis if they are multilingual maybe they can be classified as Somalis , they can be compared to the Cali Awalows a Habar awal sub clan that are Assimilated into the Wollo Amhara clans they do not speak Somali but Amharic , but are Muslim and know their Clan.

No they splitted from the main family and migrated to Ethiopia during the Abyssinian invasion of Somaliland and 13 or 14 century and got displaced by the Xabashida.

The babile karanls are near the Somali kilil they need to re become Somalis again and learn the language

Damn, ma xabashida hore u kaxeysatay? Baabile Karanle are not that far ee they just got pushed by the Oromo in some fake boader votes. They could've been part of the somali kilil but they welcomed too many oromo in their towns.

Karanle haven't got the numbers to fully stop them without the support of Jigjiga. 10's of thousand Karanle against few millions of Oromo is a hard work sxb

A somali is someone who speaks somali and patrilineally descends from either Dir, Isaaq, Darood or Hawiye. Tumaal, Madhibaan, D&M etc are also somali but descend from Sab.

There were ancient Somali tribes who lived around the coast who do not belong to the modern Clans u named above , Most of the clans above named existence is roughly 1000 years. But there were many Somalis who predate and spoke Somali not as we know it today there were many Clans lost during the battles some were annexed by the Amhara Ifat conquerors.
