Postby theyuusuf143 » Thu Sep 18, 2014 12:16 pm

Since 2012 oodweyne is changing a lot. it was nothing before 2010 but today its one the fastest developing towns in somaliland. its getting new roads inside the town, mainroads coming from both hargeisa and burao. all kinds of government buildins etc.

The joke title 'Modernization of Oodweyne'

Gobolka Oodweyne is the least developed region in the entire Somaliland. It has 64 Tuulos and 3 degmos. Oodweyne is biggest Gobol out of all the new gobols.

The entire region has no functioning hospital because the only one Oodweyne hospital has been closed since 2012, no functioning secondary school because the only one Oodweyne Secondary school has been closed since 2012, this due to the meddling of the central government.

People from Oodweyne have to go to Hargeisa or Burao to send their kids to school, or even to go to hospital.

And to add insult to injury Oodweyne being the richest gobol in Somaliland through resources livestock through reserve area and farms are not even allowed to have custom cashuuro.

The livestock and produce of Oodweyne can only be taxed in Berbera and Burco to subsidize these two latter poorer regions of Berbera and Burao and their local government who has no funds.

Afar cagaf oo yaryar from central govt in 2013
laba laami with the UNDP contracts given NOT to locals but Reer Berbera and the Mayor of Berbera is not modernization.

Oodweyne will defiantly NOT vote for the incumbent govt. But rather either the two opposition parties.

The funding for this project was given by the United Nations Development programme with all road infrastructure project.

the UN fund for Oodweyne Town road projects was apparently for $10 million, which was a joke and they were even advertising it on somalilan websites.

How can you give UNDP contract for Oodweyne local govt to Berbera local govt to implement.

Its like Burco local government getting UNDP funding to build Gabiley roads or even roads in Boroma or even Xaafada goljano? This is absured, joke.

the contracts was for 4 afar laami NOT 2 laba, were is the the money for the other two roads?

I'll tell you corruption

I agree the region have no big enough hospital but its not closed. i hope minister xaglotoosiye will do something about it. i could not find any information about government Secondry schools, but i found that there is even computer schools .
the town has TAX OFFICE and BANK, if there is no revenues the government would not build those two institutions in oodweyne !

Where did you get the information that the UN paid 10 million to develop oodweyne roads ? provide facts not kutirikuteen. berbera did not took any contruct to build oodweyne roads. in fact they helped their junior (oodweyne city council) brothers and thats why oodweyne have CIDDIN (the mayor of berbera) Road because he provided all the materials.

Taxation and cashuuro from Oodweyne is given to subsidize Hargeisa and Burco its a FACT.

Its in xeerka caashuuro articale 12.

The former mayor of Oodweyne Yamaarig and Governer Ku xigen made a formal complaint and it was rejected by Hargeisa Maayar Jicir and Burco maayir.

What is the annual revenue of Oodweyne? I saw a report the charcoal trade alone produces $2 million annually in the area, most revenues come from
the farms and livestock though. The mayor of the city should focus on reopening the old airstrip, the more revenues the better.

Oodweyne is NOT allowed to collect tax revenue, its goes to Hargeisa and Burco.

60% of Oodweyne livestock revenue is subsidized for Hargeisa and 40% of livestock revenue to Burco.

the livestock in Oodweyne accounts for 80% of the entire Somaliland livetock, through its strategically geographic location with Hawd. But the revenue is subsidized for Hargeisa and Burco local councils.

CIDDIN (the mayor of berbera) Road because he provided all the materials.
What connection does a citizen of Berbera have with Oodweyne?

He got the UNDP contract through govt connections that why they named it after him.

Why they named it after a Ciise Musa

When there millions of famous reer Oodweyne, such Abwaan Cali Sugulle and Maxamed Aadan Dacar, or even Maxamed haaji Ibraahim Egaal.
