How about we try filtering bada cas if it works for dubai then why not us..but we have to filter it better than Djibouti tho :scusthov:
Disalination costs billions of $. It also uses up a lot of energy. Also building the pipeline would cost hundreds of millions of $. Also 1 disalitation plant is not enough to supply the whole of hargeisa. The best option for now is to create a reservoirs to capture the huge amounts of water lost to the sea.

Somaliland has enough annual rainfall and underground aquifers. Desalination plants are expensive and require technical experience Somalis don't have. I would suggest using Solar power as a means of energy to desalinate Sea water in the future but for now we must first use what is at our disposal i.e. the underground water tables.
