Bosaso is limited by mountains, there is literally no more land to build on. It is without doubt the most dense in Somalia. Sort of how Hong Kong is so small, hemmed in by mountains. Compare apples to apples not oranges, Beledweyne is a village compared to this.

In all honesty, cities/towns in SL & PL didn't experience
a large scale war or military operations as of early 2000's.

Southern Somalia is not save or stable which would
obviously hinder the growth of any urban centers.

Besides mogadishu southern somalia is mostly dispersed populated villages the urban areas is mogadishu, kismayo, galkacyo, bosaso that's mostly it, but you can also include the rural like baydhabo and beledweyn.

For somaliland main urban city and towns is hargeysa, burco, borama, berbera, laascanood, ceerigaabo, wajaale, gabiley and sheekh.

You can zoom in upto 0.5 km2 for most images and the resolution is great.
For a small fee you can also download the files or print them.
