Cool.....The 2015 new satellite images have settled a lot of arguments walee

Lakiin kariintooy meelaha qaar in dib loogu noqdo weyan. Wajaale being bigger than Gabiley and Berbera is nothing but a bit of hogwash and is laughable. It's just not possible. Although u did say it's nothing concrete and is your own scribbling with an obvious touch of bias, some fools will still take this as some sort of factual evidence and reference it in the near future.

Jigjiga and Burco are nowhere near Diridhaba. Jigjiga being only smaller than dire dawa by 2 sqkm is hilarious. Burco being as twice the size of Borama is sacrilegious to say the least. And you have been unfair to Bosaso, Beledweyne and Galgacayo. If anyone in here believes or will go with your finding that those 3 cities are all half of the size of Burco then they are all bloody ignorant goons .
:lol:

Burco is underrated, I am sure it's even bigger than, and it's well planned.

Geoseven

Baydhaba - image from March 2015 - area 13.56 km2

Image

Jowhar - image from November 2014 (a more recent 2015 image does exist laakin it is covered with clouds) - area 4.69 km2

Image

Buuloburde - image from 2012 (that is the most recent image) - area 3.93 km2

Image

I cannot get an image covering the whole of Addis Ababa - however according to wikipedia it is 527 km2
This seems to be correct because one has to zoom up 500 km2 to fit most of Addis into the viewer that comes with the programme.

Out of all the cities Berbera seems to be the most under rated. In the Djibouti area you even included the Airport. I think you should include everything in a city whether it is a port, warehouse, airport or plots of land that have been enclosed by fence. If we do this, you will need to include the batalaale beach structure and also the south, south eastern and western portions of the town.

You'll get same results as me +/- a few km2 according to your particular bias :lol:

I see ... :up:

There are definitely arguments to be had over what should be included and what should not.
My aim here is not to give the most accurate of details when it comes to area rather I wanted
people to have a general idea of the sizes of various Somali towns

I should also add I am human I do have biases be they overt or more hidden.

I would advice people to buy the programme in order to see for themselves :up:

Good effort still :clap:
Cuz, you need not worry about size. When arable land and other precious resources are abound.

I hear you lovely. Although, in the words of our much famed Basra; size is all that matters looooool!

Ceerigaabo - image from June 2015 - area 2.77 km2

I excluded the Shacab area to the North, since it is lightly populated and to try and compensate for the
open spaces within the defined area.

Abdikareem, thanks for the effort brother. You are right, these are just estimations and they've served their purpose. Relatively the largest Somali cities are Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Djibouti, JigJiga & then Burco.

It could be observers bias coupled with flawed measuring. Disprove them, if you wish. Personally, I couldn't care less. If your land is barren, what does it matter? :lol:

@Caynabo X

if you take out the port,airport and the oil terminal compound. Berbera is like a village withing wajaale. the most glorified Somali city is berbera it self.

@Agent

If you read back Abdikarim wuu kasii cudurdaartay wixii khalad ah ee kasoo dhexbaxa sidu wax u cabiray maadaamuu gacanta ku waxeeyey. weliba wuu kuu sheegay software ka magaciisa hadaad gadan karto. marka xigto miis iyo waxaas waa out of equation just zoom out the image hadii ay jiraan suburbs ka baxsan sidu u calaamidiyey magaalada borama. waxa suurta gala in xaafadaha qaar diilintu hoos martay. burco ba xaafadaha qaar baan ku jirin dhulku abdikarim weygaaray waayo xoogaa way ka baxsanyihiin magaalada weyn.
