Dawga cad is not a tourist road.... There are no roads being built for tourist puposes, we are not bloody Europe.

Dawga Cad connects Hargeysa with Xeebta and onwards to Djibouti.

As for the topic, SL development should be spread out East as much as possible.
Burco airport should be built to service the East. We alrady have 2 functioning descent airports in the West namely Hargeysa and Berbera.
We also have the second busiest somali port ( first being Djibouti) in the form of Berbera, which is connstantly expanding.

The Burco Ceerigaabo road Is probably the best project SL has ever embarked on. We should follow it up with the Burco Hargeysa road in order to link the 2 heartland cities of SL directly with each other

Mashallah this is a very ambitious project that can be pulled off by reer Burco. We possess the needed funds, with the needed organization and awareness we can wrestle the money out of pockets :up:

Dawgacad is actually going to be tourist road. as we know there is beutifull beaches in ceel sheikh local and international tourists will visit that town every day. its very clean closer and cooler than berbera batalaale.

@Jabuutiyan

The east is not important as it looks. the whole togdheer region pays less tax than gebiley, that part of the country is very disadvantaged. No matter what party comes into power every party have big plans for the west. Meeshaas yadoo shidaal laga helo mooyee naf kale maleh Ninkii aan geel iyo adhi ku haysani hargeisa haysaga soo guuro. lool

Man your so uninformed. Its not a suprise though. When you consider Somaliland we only export two products: Frankencense and Livestock. One of these is exclusive to the east while the other predominently comes from the east.

The 1000s of tons of frankences exported from east Somaliland a year is only taxed in Berbera. Majority of the tax for livestock is collected in Berbera. This tax interm is then sent to Hargeisa and barley reaches the regions where these products come from.

What do we export from wajaale and Gabiley?

Without the only two products exported from the East, Somaliland and Hargeisa are nothing.

Somalia collapsed because it was a country and society centralised in Mogadishu. If a man from Burco wanted a business license he would have to travel to Mogadishu. Worse still all collected taxes went straight to the capital and hardly made a difference to the regions where it was collected. In short that is what Somaliland is today.

Somaliland is more than Hargeisa. Infact Hargeisa has grown fat and rich of the back of East Somaliland.

Your logic, Yusuf, is that of a man who doesnt understand the struggles people face in the East. Why should the man from Erigabo, Caynaba and Buuhodle travel for over a day on dirt track roads to get to an airport in Hargeisa.

If the East is not so important maybe you should advocate for a Somaliland where the border stops in Berbera.
