SNM could defeat Barre, because they had Soviet,Ethiopian and Cuban support without this aid the Issaqs would have been destroyed by SNA.

I don't know if its only me or others have noticed this as well,

I noticed that SNM is the only resistance movement in what was once called Republic of Somalia that has a profound and continues impact on the society , so much literature have been produced during and after the SNM era.
if you compare SNM to other armed resistance groups like USC,SPM,SSDF..etc, SNM legacy exists and the mujahdeen have not been forgotten by the public unlike other groups where only the leaders were known and once those leader died or left their post their movement stopped to exist and remained a single page in the history of deposing a Dectator.

3 different fronts, East of Burco Mohammed kaahin, Sheikh mountains Dhegewyne and In Awdal near Borama Cabdilahi Askar.
In Awdal front ku jabtay SNM, lots of fighters died of hunger and thirst, waa meesha ka timi ''kaadiday uso cabay''.

Excellent point sxb. Reason is we in Somaliland owe everything to Somaliland. Our people's lives are dramatically better off than they were under Kacaan, whereas in the South, specifically beeshii USC are worse off than they were before.

Casual Farah,

Interesting. I heard the SNM suffered loses in dagaalkii Buuraha due to lack of experience in fighting.
