Here is my theory why they failed.
Abdi Dahir Mulucle is an al Shabab salesman. One day he was sent to Hargeisa to recruit and mobilize the masses for their cause.
Wuxu yimi faras magaalaha Hargeisa and started; ya Muslimiin ya Ummah walaalayaal bla bla bla.
One Hargeisawi got out off his car and shouted; " waryaahe waryaahe wa ninkan iska qalqaliinaaye. Adeer Islamki wu buuxaye orod magaalada ka fadhiiso".
Little bit discouraged, the al Shabab salesman decided to try a different location. And resets himself: ya Muslimiin ya Ummah walaalayaal bla bla bla.
Another Hargeisawi pops from nowhere and shouts: Adeer Ummah ma waxad ka wada Ummul-khayr? Walee naag aan beri jeclaa aya la odhan jiray.
Shocked the salesman then tries in front of the central Bank: ya Muslimiin ya Ummah walaalayaal bla bla bla.
Another Hargeisawi pops from behind the bewildered crowd and shouts:
"War dawladda wax ma laga sheegayaa, diin iyo waxan ha nala soo galin, diinta Sheikh Dirir baanu u haysanaa, xukuumadda wax ma laga sheegayaa!!
That's when the salesman bought a ticket to Mogadishu and the rest is history.
