My goodness I had no idea that the situation is this bad. :dwill: The drought is really bad in in a few weeks it could easily turn into famine if we dont do something.

Let's all donate what we can to the people affected by this drought.

Walahi it breaks my heart to watch my fellow Somali people suffer like this. If only I could alleviate all their suffering, I would do it in a heartbeat :(

If the animals are dying in such large numbers then what will become of the people who used to own them? What will they eat? What will be their livelihood?

Ha loo gargaar dadkan walaalaheen ah. We could easily be in their place. :(

Churches in eastern and southern Africa are appealing for humanitarian aid in the region, as 36 million people grapple with the worst drought in decades.

Linked to extreme El Nino weather conditions, the drought has hit countries such as Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, among others. The conditions have reversed normal weather patterns, upsetting people’s livelihoods.

“In parts of Somaliland, where people live on livestock and agriculture, the problem is serious,” said Roman Catholic Bishop Georgio Bertin of Djibouti, a country in the horn of Africa.

More effort is needed but so far I believe the SL people are doing excellent job but now it has spread.

It's not long to go. The worse is over.

We should see the rains Insha Allah in the next two weeks but we need to coordinate efforts better.

So far thousands and thousands of tankers have been sent to various areas.

it is the elnino effect which is changing the weather pattern.bringing cold floods to some regions and warm prolonged lack of rains in other regions,it will give away to La nina effect which is cold rainy pattern.Hope we can divert the reasons such a wonderful technology

The gov hasn't done enough in many areas not only in terms of drought but in infrastructure wise. Some places are so remote and almost inaccessible especially in Zeila area and eastern Sanaag.

The people have been sending thousands of tankers of waters filling up reservoirs but they need more help.

The army is taking part already but not sure what size.

Waran Adde just ordered the coast guards, fire fighters and the police to join efforts.

We will get through this as a community and as Somaliland. Have faith in Allah.

We surely need more awareness and future preparation. We should learn from this document this event very well so we know next time what to do.

We need to build more water points in every 100km the least.

We need more roads and early warning systems.

In the end we will come out as brothers and stronger community.
