Here is bit interesting, notice how they mention Ahmed Guray Bin hussain chief of the somali as separate while Imam Guray is simply mentioned as the "Imam"

Here's a direct quote from the Futuh al-Habasha on the Somali leader:

"The first of the tribes to reach the imam was Habr Maqdi (Habar Magaadi) with their lord and chieftain Ahmad Girri bin Husain, the Somali."

Sorry, I am confused are you mixing the Names Harti koonbe and Xarla? The ancient clan of Xarla has nothing to do with koonbe kablalax Darod.

Xarla is son of Koombe , wether its the same Daarood Koombe or his namesake. They live among the Ciise and still called Xarle Koombe

can share a link to the arabic version,i only have the first book of footox al habasha i cant find the second part.
I only know of one version published, There are few other elusive manuscript as far as Hydarbat India and the Harari once, so far we only have the Western one.

https://archive.org/details/futalabashahorc00argoog
Yeah, its the same one i have,to bad its only the 1st part,i think the 2nd part will tell more about imam axmed and his companions, but I noticed that the author always refers to the somalis as seperate unit and joined the the imam armies if the imam was himself a somali, the author would definitely refered them as the imam's people, but he never did,at least in the part 1 of his book.
