Oketch Kendo Fires Back At Africa Intelligence for False Allegation
David Goldman
In a recent edition of the Indian Ocean News Letter, the editor of the Indian Ocean Newsletter (ION), Soler Francis, published an article claiming that Oketch Okendo was fired.
In an angry response, Oketch wrote to the ION editor seeking clarification and an apology for these allegations.
Editor Soler Francis has since then published an article available on the companies official website
http://www.africaintelligence.com apologizing for the defamatory article.
According to Africa Intelligence, the managing editor and columnist of the Standard, Oketch Kendo contacted ION this week pointing out that he was not sacked.
ION has suffered setbacks especially for publishing stories that are not credible and has been forced to often apologize to key people named in these stories.
This is blamed on lack of experienced and well-connected investigative reporters in specific regions ION covers. The need for strategic intelligence sources is important and ION is hoping to put its act together.
