Hotel Liban officially opened

It has nice interior.

The man with the red beard speaking at 0:27 (Maxamuud Axmed Libaan) owns it.

why dont they build small apartment complexes there is more money to be made in apartment and housing than hotels but perhaps burco needs a bit more hotels but hargeysa has enough hotels though

Apartments are for buying or renting like the Safari apartments, where will you get people who will throw thousands monthly?
Burco is not that big of a city and there is not many NGO/UN visitors as in the case with Amabssador hotel in Hargeisa where
it is filled to brink with westerners who are willing to pay $50 a night. This hotel is more towards average visitors from diaspora
and elsewhere.

A lot of diaspora chose to buy land instead of building houses. Reason is land value goes up, house prices don't. You don't
need a house in backhome if you are away most of the time in the west unless you want to rent it but even rent prices are
low at $200 monthly.

A lot of those people have been in the diaspora for 30 years and never looked back so yes they are not home owners they might
be land owners though. They do have relatives who have houses. But who wants to stay with relatives? Unless it is your immediate
family or first cousins. If the thousands of Somalilanders in the diaspora all owned homes in Hargeisa and Burco the size of those cities
would double.

If everyone built a house backhome the hotel business would be out of business literally.
