The whole. CM issue boils down to one thing. They have no way of venting pent-up stress because of their geopolitical positioning.
As we all know, CM is the only Isaaq sub clan that doesn't border any non-Isaaqs.
Therefore they never had the historical opportunity to release stress by attacking neighbouring clans. When they do, other Isaaq clans treat them as toddlers throwing a tantrum and usually do not retaliate.
We are protective of CM and see it as a child. For example, HJ would never go to war with CM however will retaliate quite severely at the slightest provocation from a larger, more warlike clan such as Dhulbahante and the mighty Garxajis.
If CM lived in the big bad world, the trouble discover the meaning of Isaaq tolnimo after having their little clan thoroughly brutalised by the mischievous Dhulbahante for example.
CM are our little children. Their tantrums are not taken seriously. This is because they are ignorant and naive as to what a real clan-war entails.
Arap, on the other hand are a similar sized clan to the CM but they don't mess around. Over the years, they've had beef with Ogaden and HJ. They are called Dhan dagax for good reason.
When they threaten war, everyone shits their pants and for good reason. I believe it was nearly 10 years ago when they had a grazing dispute with the Abraahin clan of the Ogaden and believe it or not, the Arap clan conducted cross-border raids deep into the Hawd from their strongholds South of Hargeisa.
When our little brother CM makes a threat, no one bats an eye lid and even if they do something stupid like murder a HJ officer, we treat them with kids gloves. After all, they do not what they're getting themselves into and have little experience of the brutal clan wars other Isaaq clans had with their neighbours in the tougher and more unforgiving regions of Hawd and the Nugaal valley; regions where you are sometimes forced to kill or be killed when vying for precious resources such as grazing rights and wells.
