Bustaanaan Dharab Ku Meydhaay
Bidhaansiga Kalgacalkaay
Xaramkii Bar-baartaay
Beertii Xuriyadaay
Bara Caafimaad iyo
Guri Leysku Baantaay
Baxsaneey Hargeysaay
Kaa Gudoomey Baaqii....

.....

Halkii Laygu Dhalee
Hoygii Aan Ku Abaabiyo
Magaalada Hargeysiyo
Hanadada Ku Noolee
La Hal-maali Jirayoow

....Dhalin Lala Heshiiyiyo
Halka Lagu Caweeyiyo
Haasaawihii bari......

....

IYO QAARKALOO BADAN!!!

Somali music was born there and the first Somali radio to make the music reach the masses beyond the xeero geel.

Hargeisa also had the most poets and composers.

Many prominent singers were from there too.

The song above (first) was written by Hadraawi while he was on project in the south. It was for his friend and music rivalry Abdi Qays.

The legendary composers were Aw-Farah, Ahmed Saleban Bidde, Hadraawi, Abdi Qays, Yusuf Haji Adan, Ibrahim Gadhle, Mohamed Adan Dacar, Tuuke, Basbaas, etc.

The two biggest Hargeisa songs are Baxsaaney Hargeysay (Hadraawi, sang by Salax Qasim AUN) and Shacabki Hargeysaay (Yusuf Haji Adan, sang by Jubba).

Hargeysa is the Qibla of Iidoor.
Hargeysa is to iidoor, what Mecca is to the ummah.

As was narrated by Abu Lali ibnu Ari-Anglai, one day while sitting with the disciple of The Sahaba (snm) one man asked....Why did Burco protested and asked for their city to be bombed from the air just like Hargeysa? A Mujahid replied,... my dear brother.....lool

Bahz ibn Hakim reported: The Messenger of Allah, صلى الله عليه و سلم, said, “Woe to the one who speaks lies to make people laugh. Woe to him! Woe to him!”

Hargeysa is no Qibla to anyone nor SNM Mujahids are equivalent to Sahaba.

Kaftanka iyo faanka yaanu kula fogaan.

The Name hargeisa it self is so adorable and most big Somali composers are linked to that place in many ways. It's easy to draft a song about hargeisa but not burao or dhuuso mareeb. Lool walaahi I am not even in the mood but I can try to make some lyrics about hargeisa right now in less than 3 minutes. Here is my song

Hargeisaay aduunyada hoygii u sidataay
Habeenkii iftiinkiyo kaaheedu ifayaay
Hablahana haldhaa dumar halkii uu ku deeqay
Hargeisay hubaashii ku hilmaami maayo abid.

By Qibla I meant important. Notice how the tittle is....in the history of SOMALI music. I said idoor and its very important to isaq.

The sahaba were fighting for the sake of Allah. The snm were fighting for the sake of isaq binu hashim who carry the Prophet DNA  so anyone defending the lineage of our beloved prophet (scw) and our awoowo, was also fighting for the sake of Allah.

But I get your point, you party pooper.

Abu Huraira reported: "The Messenger of Allah narrated to me that on the Day of Judgement, Allah, Most High, will descend to His slaves to judge between them. Every nation shall be kneeling. The first of those who will be called before him will be a man who memorized the Qur'an, and a man who was killed in Allah's cause, and a wealthy man. Allah will say to the reciter: 'Did I not teach you what I revealed to My Messenger?" He says: 'Of course O Lord!' He says: 'Then what did you do with what you learned?' He said: 'I would stand (in prayer reciting) with it during all hours of the night and all hours of the day.' Then Allah would say to him: 'You have lied.' And the angels will say: 'You have lied.'Allah will say to him: 'Rather, you wanted it to be said that so-and-so is a reciter. And that was said.' The person with the wealth will be brought, and Allah will say to him: 'Was I not so generous with you, such that I did not leave you having any need from anyone?' He will say: 'Of course O Lord!' He says: 'Then what did you do with what I gave to you?' He says: 'I would nurture the ties of kinship and give charity.' Then Allah will say to him: 'You have lied.' And the angels will say to him: 'You have lied.' Allah, Most High, will say: 'Rather, you wanted it to be said that so-and-so is so generous, and that was said.' Then the one who was killed in Allah's cause shall be brought, and Allah will say to him : 'For what were you killed?' So he says: 'I was commanded to fight in Your cause ,so I fought until I was killed.' Allah [Most High] will say to him: 'You have lied.' And the angels will say to him: 'You have lied.' Allah [Most High] will say: 'Rather, you wanted it be said that so-and-so is brave, and that was said.' "Then the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w)hit me on my knees and said: 'O Abu Hurairah! These first three are the creatures of Allah with whom the fire will be enflamed on the Day of Judgement.'"

Aan party-ga wax ku darsade

Dhulkii eebe doortaad Dhalashada ku raacdoo

Xaramkaad ku dhowdahay Dhaqanka iyo Diintoo

Waxaad dheef ku leedahay Dhoobada Madiinoo

Dhuux iyo laftaadaa Lagu dheehay khayroo

Waligaa dhankaagoo Dhacartiyo abaaruhu

Kuma dhalan rogaannoo Hargeysaay ha dheeliyin,

Ha dhantaalmin waligaa Rabbig baa ku dhowrtoo

Dhibta kaa illaashoo Dharag baad ku noooshay

Dhiishaan dhaansi nabadeed Dharraartu gumaysigu

Muska kaaga soo dhacay Dhayal kuugu muu dagin

Cilmi dhab ah Hargeysaa leh
Quraan dhigis Hargeysaa leh
Ma dhuunyada naftaadoo
Dhagar qabe ma joogee

How did you guys miss Sahra Ahmed song " Hargeysaay ha dheeliyin, Ha dhaltaamin waliga"?

I am not into songs. My favorite back in the days was " Adigan Hargeysay kuso halgamaya ".
