I lived there one month , I have seen all kinds Somalis . I am really good at integrating people so I made some interesting local friends in that short time. Here is the clans of my new friends of berbera. Muuse cabdalle, reer yoonis, jibriil obokor, ciise muuse and gabooye. I have seen sheekhal and warsangeli real berberawis as well. It's very mixed place , this city can be transformed to the largest city in Somaliland. I always liked berbera , now I passionately love.

Why I love, it's truly a land of opportunities. It's the only place that you can easily survive even if you don't have a penny, a heaven for both the rich and the homeless. It's physically clean city compare to the busy hargeisa and burao, but I think there is a presence of air pollution because of the deasel fueled heavy trucks getting in and out of the port. Our next government leadership should encourage Somalilanders to move into Saaxil region , this can be promoted easily if the president himself moves into Saaxil, especially sheikh district. The biggest presidential office should be erected in sheikh. Our entire saaxil coast is empty from ceel sheekh to laasciidle. The great Berbera city is empty crying for more people . Yet some short sighted people are beating their just quarreling over who owns berbera. You own it only if you are willing to live there.

HJ have originated from Saxil xeebta iyo buuraha. Although most of us have move to Togdheer hawd, sool and Sanaag, there are still a lot of HJ there.
HJ lives in the largest section of Saxil, anything East of Berbera right the way along the coast to xiis iyo maydh is HJ.

All reer Sheikh Isaaq orignated from Maydh including HJ.

HY are not new arrivals in Berbera they live beyond berbera, and between Berbera and Hargeisa where they meet Isaxaq Carre which has been living in hargeisa for 350 years now after Cidagale. The only HY subclan which has real Degaan in berbera and sheikh are Muse Abdullah which they still do to this day such as Go'da Wayn, Go'da Yar, Gacan Libax, Mandheere etc. They have been intermarrying with Ciise muse for Decades.

Cirro is Muse Abdullah and from Berbera. The Mayors of Berbera has always been Ciise Muse and Muse Abdullah. Ciise Muse are the majority followed by Muse Abdullah.

Las Idle and Xagal are small Costal Tuulos far from Berbera City. If you had degaans there why couldnt you build Ceel Garde port??

Reer Yoonis live in Caynaba.
Reer Dahir live in Balidhig.

So I dont know why HJ are claiming lands they simply do not own. All Reer shiekh Isaaq came from Mayd. Does that mean Mayd is an Cidagale, Arab or a Ciise muse Degan? No. Its Muse Carre degaan. Just because you claim you originate from Saaxil mountains does not mean you are from there.
