There has been major progress made in SL since 1991 in all fronts.

We are now entering the developmental phase whether that is dams to curb water shortage or curbing Ethiopia's influence in the region which the Berbera base will do.

Forget the old Somaliwayn unity pipe dream. It never had a chance of succeeding anyway. Join your "qaldaan" "Rer Waqooyi" people and let's ogress together.

Let the games begin. UAE military base, Kuwaitis, Qataris come on down.

Somalia has been welcoming from Dhagcas, hairy Turks, Fufus, Habashis, so why not us?

We have joined the hunger games late but we will catch up. And unlike our retarded brethren down South, we will actually have something to show for at the end of all of this.

For starters, our militia is well organized, structured, disciplined; only thing they require is proper equipment. We will be fully equipped, will have military base capable of defending against strong external threat.

We keep the Habashis, Houthis, and Any skinn that tries funny business at bay in the foreseeable future

#whynotus
If you really want to develop your region, why not start with something beneficial to the population such as developing the education, health and employment sectors. It's not like Somaliland has a external or internal threat of military attack. It is actually stupid to focus on the military, it will just backfire since Somalis are always stupid enough to use the guns on themselves. Don't follow the footstep of Djibouti, which is now a back garden for so many foreign countries. Follow the footsteps of Iceland and Scandinavian countries. Waa iga daacad

Also don't put your focus on Somalia, we have serious enemy (Al-Shabaab) and it is important for us to strengthen our security sector in order to pave way to strengthen other sectors like Education and Health etc. The sooner Somalia sorts its security sector the sooner AMISOM can leave and the country can focus on development.

This is nonsense. It makes perfect sense for Somaliland to invest in its security. This is what all social and economic activities are based on. Once there is absolute security, we can focus on long term development. We do not rely on AMISOM.

Somaliland doesn't focus on Somalia. It is Somalia that tries to stop development in Somalia at every turn, every opportunity.

I didn't say that investing in security is wrong. It is only wrong to the extent of offering piece of land to foreign countries to set up their own military bases. That is just really counter productive. Yes you guys don't rely on AMISOM same goes for a lot of areas in Somalia such as Puntland, Galmudug and some parts of Jubbaland. Besides AMISOM have a mandate and their mandates does not include that they can stay in the country for more than 25 years, they can be held accountable for any damage they do and they rely on EU and UN money. So they are not a big threat, they are just some African soldiers used to assist the government against a huge threat called Al-Shabaab. Did you see the way I highlighted the world threat? What threat does Somaliland have in order to offer a foreign country a military base? Like seriously what benefits are you gonna get from it?

If you really want foreign investment when it comes to security, you should ask UAE the same thing the Mogadishu authority asked the Turkish government to establish a military compound for your own forces so that they can be trained in their own soil. Previously Somali forces were always trained outside the country like in Uganda, Djibouti and Italy etc. But now we have our own military Academy in the outskirt of Mogadishu, this will bring effectiveness when it comes to training the national army both logistically and training wise.

I am not discussing Somaliland development with you. Wax ku khuseeya ma ahan. It is clear that many of you folk horumarka Somaliland waydun ka soo hor jeedaan. And did you just say that you don't support offering land to foreign countries for military bases?

Somaliland is also threatened by Al Shabab, Ethiopia and Yemeni rebels.

That ain't a Turkish military base. It is a military training facilities including uniform factory for Somali forces. It is one of the biggest military training facility in East Africa and there will be roughly 200 Turkish officers training around 10,000 Somali soldiers.

Secondly, posting pics of AMISOM forces ain't a valid excuse for you to offer 30 year lease for a foreign country a military base. That is just childish response. I asked you what benefits you gonna get from it..and you didn't reply anything worthy to read. So I am guessing you are just emotional supporting it rather than rationally.

Just don't trust Konfuur. They are well known for their munafiiqnimo. That's why nothing goes right for them.

We don't care what they put in the south or if Kenya expands its rabbit proof fence into Mogadishu let alone Garisa.

The north just needs to do north and focus on trading with Ethiopia, Africa's second largest nation.

You need no anyone else if you can take 30% of that market.

Never trust anyone from south, even their most holiest is munafiiq.

Listen.......I firmly believe nothing will materialise from this socalled deal.
Nothing will ever get done, north or south, unless we do it for ourselves. :D :som:
