Somaliland population must be 5-6 million by now

What's the current population of Somaliland we been hearing it's 3-5 or 4 million for the last 15 years.

Can anyone tell us what the actual population might be, Hargeisa and the surrounding area along has 1-2 million people.

My uncle who works for the government told me according to government estimates the current population of Hargeisa is 1.3 million. This was in 2015. And he told me that they didn't include foreigners qurbajoog, Oromo, refugee...
So I would say Hargeisa has at least 2 million inhabitants.

I think is more than that yearly change in Africa country is average 2.5% so Somaliland is no exception

last year somaliland waa registering the voting cards from each city in somaliland. also they said they will use it to make a citizen card

It's good to have big country by land and a small population. There would be more resources to go around. Like Australia.

Somaliland were less than 3million in 2014 when the population estimates were done. They are approximately 3 million when you include the areas that overlap between PL and SL. PL and SL were both fronting when they claimed they were both 3.5 million lol. Half of the Somalia population doesn't even live in the North. The majority of Somalis population is located in the territories Koonfur (south of Puntland).

I would say 4.5 to 5 million mostly likely 4.8 is closest estimate.

People are pulling figures right out of their ass, the truth is no one knows, could be 2 million or 5 million or lower or higher.

On thing is for certain the Bantu population in the south is grossly under estimated, the numbers are far higher then the 15% reported

My estimate come from the notion that somaliland population is lesser than eritrea population but its land and area size is larger than eritrea.

And don't forget somaliland was over one third of the somali republic population during afweyne time.
