Listen to this great program from the hub of culture thats BBC Radio 4:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08wmyc3

- The official Somali in its most proper form is the one spoken by Duriyada.

- The field of Somali Studies, including the written Somali orthography was pioneered by a son of Duriyada (Muse X. I. Galal).

- The most celebrated poet of our times is a son of Duriyada (Hadrawi).

- Any top 10 list of the finest poets in Somali history would have most spots filled by Duriyada, the rest would be clans in the blessed Duriyada sphere of influence.

Despite your tribalism agenda Hadraawi is truly a Somali literary legend, up there with the likes of Mohamed Said Abdulle Hassan, Ismaacil mire etc.

The standard Somali is spoken in the central regions of Somalia, Mudug and Galguduud.

Ka carar meesha before you're humiliated again like in that Ceerigaabo thread. :pac:

The people in central Zoomalia, who can't differentiate between the word xaar and the word xaadh. People who say gogol xaar instead of gogol xaadh, don't speak standard Somali.

But go ahead and prove your statement.

I thought the iidoor crusaders in Snet knew that Hadraawi is NOT up there with their very best in the much celebrated field of Somali poetry but he is rather remembered for penning down some of the greatest Somali super-hit songs. He was a good poet though.

P.s top7 iidoor poets of all time
1)Salaan Carrabeey
2)C.J.Haabil
3)Aflow
4)Yawle/Hurre
5)Qawdhan Ducaale/Jaadeer
6)Maxamad Cawar/Xuseen X.
7)Cabdi Gahayr/ustraali/INA Duube/GunlyoBar'eg

The above are the all time iidoor heavyweight poets But VERY FEW OF THEM will have their place in all time Somali top7.

Humiliated?

Dimwit, neither pronunciation is wrong, but the former is the correct spelling and the formal pronunciation.

The Somali spoken in the central regions was adopted and accepted as the standard Somali when the language was written in 1970s.

I don't debate with folks who are intellectually inferior, and especially those suffering with the small clan syndrome, :lost:

You were humiliated. You claimed our city Ceerigaabo and Ben Dover gave you a reality check with facts.

Their pronunciation is wrong. Gogol Xaar, the Walaweyn pronounciation, means shitstained sheets. :pac:

Marcelo Lamberti, the only linguist to have done extensive field work on Somali dialects, concluded in his report in 1981 that the official dialect of the Somali Democratic Republic is northern Somali. Now what's the basis for you claim other than Dofaar Ismaciil propaganda?

Hadraawi is not a poet he is a play writer. Modern Somalis confuse a poet with abwaan.

All daarood list with a sprinkle of a window dressing Hadraawi and Timacade which no isaaq regard them as greatest poets.

All you have listed are not great poet with the exception of Raage Ugaas the rest are great baraanbur yaal.

 dumbass!

Your homosexual cousin's claim was phenomenally debunked! Did you forget when you were crying about the elections not being fair?

Imbecile firstly, these are not dialects but accents and am stating the accent spoken in the central regions was ADOPTED to be the standard Somali, properly to be a compromise between the northern and the southern Somali accents. Which accent is more closely related to the original Somali is another question.
