Imam Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Ghazi and the nickname the-left-handed.

Postby X.Playa » Sat Aug 26, 2017 4:36 pm

No where in all of the Futuux in all of its available manuscripts is he called left handed or described as such. So where this tradition originated?

Most western historian claim that the Afar and Amhara nicknamed him as such. But his chronologist Axmed Al Jeezaani applied Jari or Guray to Garaad Ahmed ibn Hussein of the Isaibnand not the Imam.

Another issue is did the Somali imported this nickname from the Amhara in recent times ? What is the oldest Somali mention of the Imam been left handed?

My theory is that the Amhara conflated Garaad Ahmed Gurey with Imam Ahmed Gurey and that confusion was passed to the Somalis.

Adal and Harar? Are you stupid or insane. ? Adal was located in Zeila as the capital and the city was multiracial multicultural and multi religion zone.

You just mad because of the daarood narrative that died with your uncles Afwweyne and Idaajaa.

In a time where there was frequent warfare between Christian and Muslim, do you think a Budhist like you would be decapitated or fed to the hyenas ? Imam Ahmed was obviously an orthodox muslim he would be rolling in his grave if you are somehow related to him, subxanllah, gaaladan indho adega.

Zeila and multi culture don't mix!!!! Listen zeila was centre was Islam in the Somalia. Somalis were known to been from land of zeila and land of Berber during medieval times. Read about the zeila corner in Al-Azhar university in Egypt during middle age time. The corner was from Somali students. Also zeila corner in Damascus Syria.

Nope it was not multi culture at all, and I doubt that you even read a book or two from your language. Second Cairo was not even multi culture during medieval since the Christian Left and ran to south of the country and rest to alexandria. They used to get discriminated in the capitals and majority of Christians and Jew lived in small isolated towns away from the eyes of Muslim governors.

You bastards discussed this over a billion times. None of you have any evidence thus each MF is going crazy over his own speculations and theory.

Neither are irrelevant and inaccurate diaries from some Arabs (illiterate in fact) are proof of evidence.

Each to his own.

I personally think he was no different than Usama bin Laden in Afghanistan. Usama is no Pashtoo yet that didn't stop him leading them.

He was not Somali my objective is the origin of the nickname and to who it belongs between the two Ahmeds.
