Reer Wadani

Kulmiye has won this election by over 100k votes. Even if all of the Gabiley votes and half of Hargeisa's Kulmiye vote is thrown out and discarded you would still lose this election.
Wadani was relying on the votes of Cidagale, Arab, Samaroon and Harti.
The reality of the results are that Cidagale voted for Faysal. The Arab vote turned out to be numerically insignificant. Samaroon is as divided as Isaaq and even in Riyale's time barely voted as a block. As expected this time around their vote was split. Only the Harti vote came as expected. Wadani miscalculated and lost.
So why all the hype?
Wadani put up a great fight. The campaign was a celebration of democracy. Polling day was described as "free and fair" by the international observers. Accepting defeat, it seems, is just a step to far for Wadani.
Its sad to see the number of D*ck Heads on HERE turning their back on Somaliland and hoping for its destruction because "their GUY" didn't win.

There are no two ways about it, Kulmiye won. Now Wadani has a choice between conceding defeat and retaining their honour and momentum as the main opposition party, or succumb to the whims of former faqash scum like Bubaa or political whores in the likes of Xirsi and Maxamed Bixi Yonis.
Silanyo will always be remembered for conceding defeat by 80 votes when in fact he had won that election! This time round Wadani did not even win, you lost, take it on the chin and let us continue building our country.
Part of the blame must be placed at the NEC's complete lack of understanding of timing the announcement of results. The longer they keep it under wraps the easier it is for morally bankrupt politicians to spread rumours and lies and to get people to go on the streets seeking blood. It is very irresponsible bordering on criminal.

I was totally surprised by the Gadabuursi vote - I obvously do not have the results but I have it on good authority that Awdal was split clean in the middle - 50-50.
Habar Cafaan, Maxamed Case and Ciise voted en-masse for Kulmiye.
Waddani needed the entirety of Awdal - Awdal smashed Waddani’s hopes.

Cidgalle are split between both parties
Arab haven’t got the numbers to swing the vote
Samaroon is split so are harti
But the reer Djibouti somalilandera tipped the scales in favour of kulmiye and closed the gap

Hit the nail on the head.
One mode thing - Was it so hard to televise the counting process. Bring all the ballot boxes to the main towns and in front of the nation’s media count it live.
If we somehow manage to overcome this crisis focking lessons must be learn!!

Kulmiye won it by 3000 votes. Honestly it was hard to imagine Maxamed Caase and JY voting the same way.

Beyond supporting their own man - Are there any other reasons why the Maxamed Case and Mikaahil vote on opposite sides?

I votes has not even been announced by the NEC yet wadani supporters are already crying like little girls.
This years election has been the fairest and most transparent ever. There was no double voting like previous elections. If wadani lost fair enough take it on the chin. It’s an election there was only going to be 1 winner.
When silanyo lost the election in 2003 by 80 votes even though everyone knew it was fraud Reer kulmiye did not protest or start fires. They did their homework and won the next election. Reer wadani take note.
