You cannot destroy the Qabiil mentality, its a fools errand, try to work with it and modernize it, so the younger generation know that is incompatible with nation building, but at the same time their lineage and identity should be respected, Siad barre clamped down on qabiil too hard and people were feeling threatened, its better to faze it out by providing a better alternative.I know that but im talking in the grand scheme of thingsSomalia is far from a utopia, but really where on the planet is a utopia, in Somalia you will not face racism, tribalism is nonsense no one will ask you clan in Mogadishu, its all about Somalinimo, business and horumar, I guarantee you the situation is getting increasingly better and Mogadishu is having a massive influx of diaspora which will only escalate progress. The government is slowly making progress.
Somalia is sitting on the bussiest shipping lane, the powers that be don't want us in powerful position to challenge our stake on that shipping lane.
The qabil mentality has got to be destroyed if we are to ever function as a country. I hope they add something like this to the school curriculum.
Qabiilism died in Mogadishu but because the city because so successful the tribal regions migrated to it, and with them they brought clannism again, we can prevent the same mistake from happening by restricting free migration, Siad Barre did not do that, infact he imposed a ban on clan borders and allowed freedom of movement, this is one of the biggest mistakes of his regime.
