The reason why Garanuug is xaram for Sacad Musa

Postby ZubeirAwal » Sun Jul 22, 2018 12:59 pm

I've heard this story from odey reer miyii in gabiley back in 2016..

He basically told me that when Sacad Musa was in between the ages of 0-1, before he could even crawl, his family, were in the process of moving.

He was tragically left behind and they thought that the hyenas, or leopards took him and ate him. However he was seized by a Gerenuk, that raised him on its milk, until some years later, around when he was 5-6.

They claimed to have spotted a feral child running in the Sanaag forests with the Gerenuk, probably galloping around. The men were curious and claimed it could possibly be sacad musa as they identified some sort of resemblance. The boy was chased, he couldn't speak or nothing, and the Gerenuks resisted the men that tried to grab him. Until they promised the Gerenuks that if they allow them to take the boy, they will never ever kill a Gerenuk, not for hunting, not for nothing at all.

The boy returned and was slowly reintroduced into his family until he matured and fathered his sons. He warned his sons to never kill or hunt a Gerenuk, for they raised and protected him in his infancy.

In other words, members of this northern clan, are direct descendents of a single Tarzan-type father. Interesting.

This is the problem when you have never left your family's kraal and you have been fed with propaganda and stereotypes about the neighboring communities.
This is sad. The elders in the North keep telling their youngsters that their culture is different and there is nothing called Somali.

Sorry to burst your bubble young man, but not eating or hunting Garanuug is an old Somali custom.
The Sayid has used as swearing in many of his poems. Waxaasi iyo waxaasi wayga Garanuug!

Garanuug is not eaten because it bleeds periodically like the female humanbeing.
