If Mogadishu beats us to that obvious opportunity then they will control the somali economy for good. It bugles my mind how nobody seem to think about this simple idea??

Most Somali companies are privately
Owned. The ones that do sell shares behind closed doors. I don’t think it’s too important for the economy.

I don't think you grasp basic economics . Let me show you how this idea works.

Opening a stock-market is cheap , beyond the physical structure the rest is commercial laws and some government regulations . Now once that is in place , let say you and me want to build a Tuna factory in Zeila , all we need is to estimate how much that will cost and then divide it in to shares and sell the shares at the market, these shares are not solely for the locals the diaspora can easily buy 90% of the shares. Once the money is generated the Tuna factory is in business , and profit can be given to investors as dividends ( faaido for their investment) through this we can build hundreds of factories . If we go beyond that even all-none-somaliland diaspora will invest also out of self interest.

Imagine how many companies we can build and how many jobs we can generate ?

Without you giving some BJ to some mode you would have been banned long ago , your constant dhuuso and trolling are tolerated for some reason and i suspect one of the modes are your sugar daddy.

stock exchange operates under the stock market So I think we should have both . Controling the platform it self is more important .

They are pretty much the same , the market and the the buying/selling shares. Whats more important and i have not heared as of yet is the regulations , you cant sell and buy shares without regulations and strict government guarantee of the entire operation and oversight . I don't think our current house of jaahiliin called SL parliament is capable of that.
