I believe there's few countries who are likely to recognise Somaliland first like the UAE, Sweden or Britain but I truly believe it should came from africa first ,when Dahir rayaale was President he use to go all over the continent to reach out to african head of states for support in the african union like zambia angola and many other.

Somaliland deserves Independence becos majority of the people support it and second of all its fully govering itself with police, army and legislation assembly. Thirdly it was already a country in 1960 when it gained independence from uk with over 30 countries recognizing it.

We need to restart the momentum on recognition issue so we can drive the economy and built the infrastructure of the country.

We done the hardest part now we need to establish foreign relations for trade , security and political engagement.

The issue for Somaliland is that it is in Africa and in Africa where there are a million different secessionist movements and a million more potential movements no one wants to open that can of worms. Are you saying UK, Sweden, UAE have such large invested interest in SL that they would be willing to unilaterally recognize SL? What African country would recognize SL?

No one does you favors from the goodness of their heart, no matter how much they sympathize with you. You are basically saying go against the World Order, open myself up to internal succession.

SL needs to wake up and start working with the Federal Government of Somalia. You guys could have basically been a Taiwan if you were smarter and more savy. SL could have been the single most powerful force within the Federal structure, but you guys never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Everyday Federal States grow strong, pretty soon SL will just be another Federal State instead of The Federal State.

Personally I hope idoor continue on this dead mission, the longer they stick their heads in the sand, the less bargaining chips they will have.

Aan ooyee albaabka ii xidha
