That is what I was thinking as well. Why would it take this long. Also I wanted to know who Borrowed this money to the previous Somaliland government. Somaliland is an unrecognised country so nobody from the International community would borrow us money. Was it Dahabshiil?

But PL achieves better results with smaller budget. Their accountability and governance are better and that's why infrastructure is superior.

No it doesnt. Puntland fails the most basic functions of a respectable government, like paying its own armed forces regularly. Forget about the armed forces, it does not even pay government officials regularly.

They do not have better roads, they have a single road that all of Puntland is built around. Their airports are seldom used if at all, they do not beat Somaliland in domestic or international flights. This is why most Puntlanders must land in Hargeisa first when they are visiting Garowe/Bosaso, despite having airports there.

I wouldn’t be suprised if the previous government did leave behind $80m in debts but why bring it up now? Also why saad Ali shire? He was part of that government from its first day to its last.

When the new government came to power Samsan said there was no debt. Why didn’t they call her out then? She and others in the cabinet like Saad Ali Shire himself should have been held accountable if there was this level of misappropriation. Personally I think this is this admins way of looking for excuse for at best it’s current failings or worse a way to mask current misappropriation.

This story doesn’t add up, why bring it up now? There is no doubt that the previous administration had corrupt individuals in it but to say we inherited a debt from the former admin after a year is dubious. The current admin won’t get any sympathy from anybody by saying there was a fund misappropriation. May be SACAD (being one of the alleged corrupt individuals in the previous Gove) is planning to embezzle money and trying to make this his coverup.

I could care less about what he says, he is trying to be relevant again after being irrelevant by supporting the current admin for Qabayalad. I for one thought, he was different, educated and would resist the Qabayalad temptation however, since that day his reputation was slowly dying. It was a slow, slow death.
