Thayusuf has been preaching his Dir dogma for the last few years now, its not like he started recently. However, this Dir thing came to prominence in the last few months sice Ina Ilay's fall.

Though, i don't believe in the Dir lineage but I think it's good tool, at least politically to further our interests.
