That’s hail rain, or what they call in Somali “Roob dhagaxyaale ah ama roob baraf wata”. It occasionally happens in all highland towns in the north which are mainly Isaaq inhabited. Baryahan ma badna, may be due to climate change, but hail rain, sometimes times with ice peices the size of grape, used to be frequent in Hargeysa in the 90s.
