Not sure what youre on about to be honest. To say that ‘Habar awal were the first Somali to fight Gaalo in the sea’ is false. For one it wasn’t a war let alone a battle it was infact an attack on an exposition. What happened after this incident is that the British came back and punished and extorted the Habar Awal for the equivalent of $30m to be paid over prolonged period or face destruction to which they agreed.

Secondly I still fail to see how anyone sees fit to use this pathetic incident as an example of ‘glorious Somali naval success’. When it pales insignificance to real examples of powerful Somali kingdoms resting control of the East African coast and Indian Ocean trade from the world’s only super power through prolonged naval warfare.
