After 30 years of peace, Mogadishu still surpasses Somaliland

Postby Futurist » Sun Feb 02, 2020 6:49 pm

The city state of Mogadishu which has been in war for 30 years, still surpasses Somaliland's cities which has been peaceful for 30 years

Whether it comes to roads, parks, airport, national library, theatre, architecture or even public landscaping. The city state of Mogadishu trumps Somaliland

Somalilanders should ask themselves some hard questions. Why is it our cities are so under developed after 30 years of peace?

Let's say machallah and realise we have a lot to learn from the resilient and business minded people of Mogadishu

Even in war, they are much more ambitious than Somalilanders. They are better at International Relations.

This is Mogadishu national theatre

Hargeisa can't even have a national theatre, because the jahli people have forbidden it

Mogadishu Mosques, with much better architecture than Somaliland, including marble pillars

Somaliland has much to learn in architecture

comparing the capital of internationally recognized country to a capital of unrecognized country is wrong. for example 50% of SLs revenue goes to security while Somalia SNA receives funds. you spend huge money on the east than on development like roads

on the other hand because they don't pay tax bills bussiness is booming in Mogadishu. this is one xaafad looks like hargeysa.

Mogadishu was heavily developed pre 1991, while at the same time Hargeysa was heavily neglected. The kacaan government refused to build more than 2 floors in Hargeysa.

Come 1991 Hargeysa was bombed to the ground, there was barely anything left. Everything had to be rebuilt. During that time Mogadishu had all the infrastructure it needed. Since 1991 Mogadishu got way more aid for development compared to Hargeysa.

End of the day both cities did well to rebuild.
