I can answer your questions.

1. Technically, they are apart of the .5's. They don't belong to the larger four tribes and are a minority clan, so they are .5'ers.

2. I believe that Arab Salah is a subclan of Meheri. The larger Meheri tribe also lives in Yemen and Arab Salah ( and maybe some other subclans) are the branch that moved to Somalia ( not too sure though).

3. Yes, I've seen it myself. They tell outsiders ( who don't know who or what Arab Salahs are) that they're Majerteen. I guess it saves them the hassle of explaining things. But believe you me, they do claim to be Majerteen ( regardless of what Costa says).
