No they are not the same. Rahanweyn is a Somali qabiil. Jareer are technically not ethnic Somali's but of bantu origin.

no offense but I can't help but laugh when I see a rahaweyn person speaking af-may. This one guy kept saying harti..I later found out it means old man or something. :lol:

Actually Raxanwein are great farmers Man. Soomalia qudaarta la dhoofin jiray waxay ka so bixi jirtay beeraha Raxaweinka ee Bay/Bakool. Xataa maanta I heard they have a great relationship with Somaliland and trucks from there come to Baydhabo a lot for business. Maybe the reason they beg in the cities is because they don't know city life but give a Raxawein a tractor and cultivitable land and He'll work wonders

Bro am not here to mock anyone but the ones in Gaalkacyo are beggers(the vast majority) ask Dawwa if you want, I can tell the difference between Jareers and Raxanweyn. Raxanweyns are usually very light skin and good looking people, I should know am born in their capital. Baydhabo waa magaalo aad u ficaan oo barwaqo badan waan ogahay aad beyna u bertaan,

I think I have some pictures of baydhabo at home! am gonna try posting them here.
