Detailed History of Majeerteen, 1800-1900.

Postby paidmonk » Thu May 21, 2009 11:25 am

Some observations before I post this information:

Cusman Maxamud are gangster mofos. They single-handedly dominated the entire sea trade from Eritrea to Zanzibar, pushing Indian and Arab traders out of the Aden Sea around Somalia and dealing directly with the British as their premier clients. They picked on Dulbahante but in return they were pillaged by Riyooles who later teamed up with Warsangali to push Dulbahante out of the Dharoor Valley, where they had begun to occupy in large numbers. Also, there was a strange distance between Maxamud Saleban and other Majeerteen clans since the book only refers to them as Majeerteen but refers to Siwaqroon and Cali Saleban as "distant lineages" that were allowed by us to live with them. Along with this, it states that Marehan along with Dulbahante and Warsangali were part of the Harti confederation, so I'm suspecting that Reer Bicidyahan are none other than Marehan with Harti sub-lineage (a Bah or something of that sort) who later joined the Majeerteen clan.

The book is called Atrocious Misery: The African Origins of Famine in Northern Somalia, 1839-1884.

I won't quote the entire book, just the important parts. Today I will post Segments 1-5 of 13.

Parts 6-13.

New observations: Cumar Maxamud stole land from Marehan in Mudug, Boqor Cusman becomes Sultan at age 18 and sends contingent to Zanzibar at 31, then lands a sea invasion on Kismayo months later. Yusuf Cali, his cousin, tries to get the Ciise Maxamud clan, who have 1,500 cavalry, to dethrone Boqor Cusman but they refuse because of loyalty to the Boqor.

Abakar yes i know ppl like you...your the type who loves sharif too sell somalian sea to kenya, the type who enjoys seeing sharif bring ethiopians back into somalia..the same sharif who says he wants more amisom troops and the same sharif who says he also wants the united nations to bring muslim peacekeepers..but u had a problem when abdullahi yusuf brought ethiopians to fight with shabab...but no problems with sharif doing the same thing abdullahi did..

war sxb what abdullahi did is exactly what any president will do...the only reason u objected him cuz he wasn't hawiye...no other reason :P

Abakar, But i am not hypocrit like you i won't oppose sharif from bringing in ethiopian troops or asking for amisom troops because i realize this the only option with this group of people as abdullahi knew full well also...but im sure you won't oppose ethiopians in somalia now u just oppose the person who brings them in...if it's abdullahi who brings them in you will oppose it, if it's sharif wh brings the ethiopians in you will cheerlead for them...hypocrisy of the worst order...u think anyone will ever take your opinion serious...AT LEAST IM CONSISTENT unlike u two faced faggots
