The article is from the 90's and for Saleemaan, I think you got your history wrong. It was Marehan that were invited to the Garowe conference and were asked to join the new state back in 1998. They said no at that time but they supported the concept. There is even a clause in the Puntland charter that is specifically there for a future inclusion of Marehan Galgaduud into Puntland

i dont see how being partners with MJs will give us any benefits... i rather live the simple life in Cabudwaaq without a port than be partners with known Dhabodilifs.
Kismaayo will be ours and Jubbaland will be build, inshallah we shall protect our island of Marexan in Middle Somalia like American protects the Jews in Isreal

mareexaan are not part of puntland, simple as that. I think mareexaan have the abillity to rebuild their regions, puntland could help them but they won't be a part of puntland.

Geographically I'm not sure How it would work. Galmudug is inbetween Marehan/Majerten lands, so Galmudug would have to be annexed 1st along with the other HG/Hawiye towns. I could be wrong.

In looking at this map it could work geographically. That Western Strip from Golgodob through Gelinsoor (Shared Wagarhdac/Sacad) and down to Caabudwaaq, Balanbale. Basically avoiding Eastern and Central Galgudud which is Hawiye deegan.

ITs good plan actually Cabudwaaq united with puntland Should complete The Union OF North-Darods.
While Gedo Should unite with Jubbaland To complete The South-Darod Union.

Why expand into Abudwaq and not southern Galkacyo.
This whole qabiil project is damn hillarious.
B4 Abudwaq and Balanbale, PL needs the consent and support of Soolians aka Nugaal State.
