The Black represents the past. The Yellow represents the dawn rising from the darkness. And the Oil drop at the uppermost portion of the flag represents our ascent as an oil-producing state.

I like the concept of this flag,it's brave and creative.I can tell a lot of effort has been put into the idea.It's not pretty,maybe if the black background was red or white

Puntlands Flag should be - Blue background,white crescent moon and a star .Simple & Beautiful.
