I am against the whole puntland bandwagon, I hope sincerely we change that name in the near future. something that fits us more, for instance, ---- The Somali Islamic Sultanate --- or even Maakhir Sultanate, anything but the whole puntland calling... we have always been a sultanate, the majeerteen sultanate the warsengeli sultanate the dhulbahante sultanate... i would have chosen THE HARTI SULTANATE, however that wouldnt be a fitting choice, considering the non-harti citizens

What a joke, how about capturing Las Anod and all Harti land first before you talk about becoming an independent country. Reorganize your priorities

i saw that i was just pionting out the harti part not all harti's are even part of the state & while non-harti's have contributed a lot more & even been instrumental in the founding of the state!!

Republic of Puntland or Puntland Republic.
I don't see why Somali or Islamic should be in the name, we are Somalis and we are Muslims. Our law is based on Shari'ah, Xeer and International Laws. Besides we have to avoid the name Somali in the international arena, I already explained why. It's a bad brand and we want foreign investment in the future.
If you let an uneducated Somali fool have its way about any name, he'll add everything he can think of: Islamic Democratic People's Republican Somali Empire of Puntland and the Blue Ocean.
Let's keep it simple guys.

Majority of Puntlanders in Somalinet were pro-union but lately I am seeing a lot more pro-seccessionist Puntlanders all because of you

I still don't support the idea of Somalia being carved up, however if Puntland ever decides to go down the route of secessionism, I think any name that has the words "Islam" and "Somali" should be avoided. Also, It doesn't make sense to have a name that has the word "harti" in it, since lot of Puntlanders are not harti and some Harti's want nothing to do with Puntland.

This is one of the most important questions in Puntland's existence, but the elder generation are afraid to be called unpatriotic traitors and therefore avoid this issue and always say the same bullshit every year: Somalia midnimadeeda iyo balaayo and waxaan wada nahay walaalo is jecel blah blah blah.BUT HOW LONG CAN WE WAIT FOR SOMALIA TO GET ITS ACT TOGETHER?
