ma waalan tahay,, they need shariif sakiiins signature for any oil deals, remember disneyland is still unrecognized

Somaliland experienced more intense exploration than puntland spaning from a period in 1950s up to early 1990s and it is already known that a commercial quantity of oil is there at list in two blocks but we postponed its exploitation for a reason. one of the important motives behind the rejection of Somaliland independence by many intelectuals from Somalia was the knowledge that Somaliland have a huge reserve of oil and gass. Thas is why i beleive oil in puntland will lessen significantly the opposition of Somaliland's independence by many quarters in Somalia.

That's the worst excuse I've ever heard. You think some Hutu politician in Xamar thinks that deep about this issue?
Somaliland admin has been trying to get exploration teams in their regions since 1991, but no one has found it worthwhile. Realistically-speaking, either Somaliland has nothing serious to offer in terms of oil or its too hard to reach (my opinion is the latter). Exploration teams aren't stupid, they look at past trials and they pick the regions that will give them the best yields, and documents ranging from US classified files to oil corporation surveys all point to Bari, Nugaal, and Sool as the best fields, with Mudug stated as a good long-term option.

Somaliland have already under_gone the same process you are about to go through now long time ago. Come back in three months when exploration is complete and we definately know if oil is there or not. Intaa wixii ka horeeya inan yar oo iska siigaysanaya ayaad tahay
