is puntland prepared for invasion?

as all know many governments are eyeing somalia these days just as they eyed libya, iraq and other oil rich countries. So if Puntland becomes successful, god forbid but UK, and all these countries may invade and try to seize that oil obviously they will use a mirage motive like fighting terrorists and pirates.

so the question is... puntland ready to defend ?

I don't see HOW or WHY Puntland would be invaded

The terrorists are in the South (Al Shabab) and the pirates are based in Harardheere and Hobyo. The International community knows this and has already carried out many successful operations against both groups,on top of that Puntland will be receiving more funding to tackle both issues on and off the coast.

Libya and Iraq had an anti-western Dictator, Puntland is not anti-west nor does she have a crazy dictator. So the comparison is a bit off. We're however prepared to defend ourselves from the oil companies and greedy politicians. they'll taste our wrath if they mistreat Shacabka.

don't be daft. the pirate are based in eyl, garacad as much as they're based in hobyo. And it's a fact that most pirates are cisse maxamoud, leelkase and cumar maxamoud and hg ofcourse. in fact faroole and his cronies were funded with pirate money. read the un report on piracy if your at all interested in facts.

Puntland has a government that's internationally respected as being responsible and on board with counter-piracy and terrorism initiatives, and is seen as the only functioning region of Somalia right now...why would other countries want to fight with us when they can talk with us? If it's just about oil, they won't have a leg to stand on cuz we have a Western-friendly government (the president himself is an Australian citizen).

If one thing faroole did in his term is he created a great foreign Policy for Puntland with the Arab world the west EU and the US Australia i do not think any one would try to invade Puntland Faroole played his cards well with the international Community.
