First Gated Compound Under Construction in Bosaso, Puntland [IMAGES]

As oil and gas exploration continues in Somalia’s stable-but-uncertain Puntland State, another breeze of change and progress is also taking hold, much in the same way that the oft-troubled Somali capital Mogadishu has seen a rise in its own commercial gains.



Real estate is once again a hot topic in Puntland, but for all the right reasons. This time it is Global Contracting, an established local firm taking on this newest project. It is unclear what has prompted the spurting of an expensive gated community in the Gulf of Aden city, but the project is nearing completion since the concept was drawn.



The almost-complete ‘gated community,’ the first of its kind in Puntland, and perhaps all of Somalia, is set to accommodate several dozen professional families, including foreigners.

ok this one isn't soo bad , the only problem is that the designer is trying to incoporate two style of architecture and failing in some way, if you look at the general shape of the building it square with a late Victorian square and precise lining to it (which is actually really good), then you look at the green roofing at the top of the windows and door now if the designer had replaced these with a clear cut flat surface like the roof of the building and added run off point in case of rain this house would look really good, the color are not that great and adding some masonry bricks to the side and drive way would have add a lot of value to the house, but they are getting there.
