RBC — Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas has singed a decree, removing Mudug governor Mohamed Yusuf Tigey from office, sources inside Villa Puntland confirms for Raxanreeb Online.

The decree which is expected to be published anytime soon fires Mohamed Yusuf Tigey and appoints a new governor for the region just hours after twin blasts killed a female civilian and wounded a dozen as second deputy Mudug Governor Ahmed Musse survived the blasts which targeted his car.

Mohamed Yusuf Tigey has been serving the region’s governor office for a while and the decree comes amid the region is witnessing repeated assassination attempts, targeting mainly Puntland government officials.

The Degree has reportedly appointed Abdikani Shire Yussuf Ereg as the new governor of Mudug region.

Indeed we lost a great man. Halyey Faroole hired him at the perfect time and as you said he made Mudug a respectable place. I just hope this new fella does his job and Mudug stays peaceful.
