a freind of mine who is a ciise maxamuud supporter of mr farole told me after the terror attack in garowe today on monday 20th april 2015 and also the killings of its people in south-central somalia e.g. federal lawmakers killed in mogadishu, and claiming northern mudug etc. ..... does it not make sense that puntland still wants to be associated with the south-centre and their lawlessness/terrorism and not be free, prosperous and peaceful like its neighbour somaliland as well as other somali territories such as ddsi and djibouti

should puntland declare unity has failed and secede, if so when will the 'puntland independence movement' i hear about be reactivated/formed

the choice is either centralism within zoomalia or secession - federalism of any kind wont work

What makes you think Puntland owes you anything? The government has done next to nothing for the people of Eastern/coastal Bari, but you don't see them flip-flopping. Loyalty is a concept that is foreign to people like you.

The truth is mjs and isaaqs share more political views than the rest of other somalis. we have the exact same ambition just different approaches. we isaaqs tell what's in our hearts and minds straight away without thinking about the consequences, when say we we dont want to share a country with somalia we genuinely mean it. at the other hand the mjs are political minded they think before they do. when they act like they are defending Somalia unity its complete deception actually we have more soft spots for somalia than the mjs. they are LEECHES the worst type of separatists they just don't want to declare their independence because they don't want to take any risk or loose one penny of any benefits in the name of somalia. in the future they will always keep demanding more autonomy and at the end they will declare their own country if their future resources matchs their expectations. they will never ever contribute any thing to the somalia federal government.

In the context of politics, which one is the correct approach? I think you would agree that it is not only clever, but in ones interest to consider all avenues and every possible consequence before settling on a single course of action. Why is that such a negative thing?

How when Puntland has and continues to take in more internally displaced people than Somaliland? There was a huge scandal when Somaliland wanted to politicize the situation and wanted the IDPs to be declared refugees. We have even taken in more Somalis fleeing the conflict in Yemen. I personally don't believe in fake Somalinimo and see it as a tool opportunistic individuals utilize to further their own political ambitions, but if there is anything called Somalinimo it is helping another Somali even when there is no real gain or benefit for you. Puntland has done just that.

Tell me how Puntland leeches off of Mogadishu? Does PL get a cut of their taxes? Does the Mogadishu government fund humanitarian projects in the region? Are they helping poor fishermen in Bari fight off trawlers? There is absolutely nothing to leech off of, unless you're talking about AID given in the name of all of Somalia. In that case, Somaliland also gets it cut so why fault Puntland for getting theirs too?

Puntland is already semi-autonomous and supports any state that is formed based on the requirements outlined in the constitution ( i.e. SW State and Jubbaland). Self-determination and autonomy for everyone.

Tell me who contributes anything to the SFG? They're funded by a foreign entity, protected by a foreign entity, and can't even make any moves politically without the consultation and approval of the real President of Somalia, Nick Kay.
