Something that I've always wondered is for what reason on did that Ali Saleeban bodyguard kill Shermarke for?

I know back in the day the clans of these two men were at each others throats but was there other unknown reasons?

The quick pace of how the military took over is a bit suspicious. Could MSB have played a hand in the assassination of this great man, who could have made Somalia something?

A few weeks back a Osman Maxamuud family friend of mine told me that the assassination wasn't clan related but cold war related. He said that the soviets were behind the killing due to Sharmarke having studied in Rome and visiting the US when he was in government.

To my understanding the assassination of President A/Rashiid Ali Sharmarke (May Allah take him to jannatul Fardowsa) was cold war related, but it was not Soviets who carried it out nor orchestrated it, as Somalia - Soviet Union relationship was warning up under former President A/Rashiid Ali Sharmarke's leadership after the JFK refused to arm and train Somali military. The only thing JFK accepted was 10,000 police force for Somalia.

Under President A/Rashid, General Da'ud visited Soviets and agreements was signed between Somali Republic and Soviet Union. The next thing was the assassination of the president.

I doubt it was Siyad Barre who was involved. You can infer who orchestrated it after the agreement with the Soviets.

There were also African leaders, like Lumumba, who were assassinated before A/Rashid and they were all warming up to Soviets.

Yes, I have heard the same. Anyone who believes Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke (AUN) was randomly killed by an Ali Saleeban police officer over a clan despite is a fool. I am Osman Mohamud and can confirm that one of my own relatives was approached before the military coup & was asked to join the plot. Sharmarke wasn't Reer Boqor or Reer Bari so how was the Ali Saleeban-Reer Boqor beef relevant to him?

The people who really know are dead or going to die soon.

If you knew anything about the assassination then you would know it was played off as an internal Majerteen issue ( Ali Saleeban vs Osman Mohamud Saleeban). Bence is Ali Saleeban, heard some info from an Osman Mohamud and wanted to see if his fellow Puntlanders heard the same.
