France-Born Star Makes Debut For African Country

France's 2018 FIFA World Cup-winning team included many players with African heritage who decided against representing their African roots, but a France-born star has now made his debut for an African nation after opting to maxbet snub his country of birth. As many as 15 of Didier Deschamps' 2018 World Cup winners had African roots one way or another. However, Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia recently decided against representing his birth country.Kondogbia was born in Nemours, France, to Central African Republican parents and ran out for his birth country up until now. He won the U20 FIFA World Cup with France in 2013 and made five senior appearances – all in friendlies – for Les Bleus. However, with his last France appearance dating back to 7 September 2015, the strong central midfielder decided to switch his international allegiance to the Central African Republic few weeks ago.He accepted a call-up from coach Raoul Savoy in September already but missed out on a debut for the Central African Republic in the previous international break due to injury. However, Kondogbia was once again called up this time around and made maxbet his debut against Ivory Coast on Friday evening. The 25-year-old was handed a start and the captain's armband on his official CAR debut, but he ended up on the losing side as they went down 4-0 against the Elephants.Kondogbia was able to maxbet switch allegiances because, according to FIFA rules, a player can swap nationalities as long as he has not represented a country in an official game.
