Somaliland Authorities detained two online journalists, working for privately owned news websites, on Saturday April 2, 2011 at the town of Boorama, NUSOJ reported.

The two journalists, Jabir Ali Omar who was working for <www.boramanews.com> and Dahir Ahmed Jirde who works for www.saylac.com, both privately owned respectively were detained at Boorama police station on Saturday April 2, 2011 after they have been
accused for allegedly posting leaflets written on the secession of Awdal region from the rest of the Somaliland with the formation of “Awdal State”. The Awdal region is still controlled by Somaliland government.

The fliers < http://harawo.org/?p=4911> were reportedly distributed on Friday night to the major gathering areas, like cafeterias , schools, universities of Boorama town, but the police commissioner of Awdal Region, Mohamed Abdi Ahmed said that the police are questioning the two journalists over the fliers.

It is not yet clear who distributed the leaflets in the town of Boorama in the overnight.

However, a statement published on Somali website <http://harawo.org/?p=4936 >, said that the two journalists were detained for posting the secessionist fliers on the websites they worked for and taking photographs of the fliers in the town of Boorama.

“We call upon the Somaliland government to respect the freedom of expression and the freedom of the press and release the journalists immediately.” Mohamed Ibrahim, NUSOJ Interim Secretary General said, “It is impossible to hold journalists incommunicado without giving them fair trail.”

Isn't the job of journalists to report the news and not make it?

The one-clan seccionist entity reminds me of the illegitimate state of Israel. Both preach democracy and freedom of speech but when someone opposes their illegitimate state and offer a more halal alternative approach they intimidate and incarcerate them. What a despicable entity indeed. This government should immediately be fought and dismantled as they are spreading kufr by championing the man-made political system known as democracy which is a farce in and of itself. The sick perpatrators of this act will be put to court in the on the Day of Judgement in front of the most just judge.

They are sick people who continue to persecute, maim and harm other Somalis simply because they don't want to join their former kaafir british, gaalo abolished border.
