The interim administration of Kismaayo right now (it has been captured for a while yet no admin yet) is this powers-sharing formula whcih will rotate every 20 days.

When Jubbaland State is announced, that interm administration will be disbanded immediately and it will be "past civil war".

There will not be a First President of Jubbaland State who is not Marehan considering we live in the majority of districts and will have the most representations. I don't think Absame will be the only deputy as has been told to me. There will be at least 3 Vice-Presidents.

But this for Jubbaland State is entirely different from the interim administration for Lower Jubba announced now which is temporary.

I'm a big fan of Sheikh Ahmed Madoobe for the following reasons:

He is an Islamist.
Former member of ICU, this is excellent when it comes to credibility.
He's a local, not a random guy that lived confortably in the west for 20 yers and now wants the top seat.
Battle hardened veteran.

Personally I'd like to see him as either Mayor of Kismayo, Head of Jubbaland Forces or President however I'm not sure if the last one that would suit him best.

I think Madoobe should have a good role. However in My mind it shouldn't be a civil role, but something like Military, Police, etc. As far as My 'candidate' believe it or not I don't have one, nor do I really mind the tribe. Infact the only reason I've always wanted a Marehan is due to the gruesome civil war and the mustrust. That said if its someone who's just and puts rule of Law above clan. I wouldn't mind Farmaajo Himself or a Farmaajo type of any clan

Ultimately I think IGAD will determine who wins for reasons nobody will know which is Why I'm not sure at all who would win or what clan they'd come from.

These men have proven a lot of people wrong, from those who would like them to fight, to those who thought they didn't have it in them, to those who wanted to stop Jubbaland, to all those naysayers around the world. May they keep surprising our expectations. In a years time I want to be able to travel freely to Jubbaland State of Somalia and find Kismaayo and the rest of Jubbaland cities with the same security and economic climate as Mogadishu.

He's already been Mayor of Kismayo during his ICU days so we know he's capable of fulfilling the role however I do agree that he may be most effective in a position such as Amiir of Jubbaland Forces.

That Amber Jamber dude the KDF spokesman on this site, and a well informed person on this whole IGAD inititive is a Somali Christian and You're talking about 'secularism' being kept in check. Somalia is gonna be a secular state, I just hope they hold to their secular ideals of 'freedom' and allow people who wanna be Ahlu Deen to be Ahlu Deen and not persecute them. If You can mantain Islam in the West, it won't be too hard in Somalia
