Zach, good question.

Marexaan, name one city in Gedo or Galguduud that even rivals Eyl. Cool

I think Bardhere and Belet Xawo, easilly rival Eyl. Belet Xawo, is a bustling city that borders Kenya and Eithiopia, and theres some big time business men there. Bardhere, was always the class of Gedo, but for some reason, we've always taken an interest in putting all of our investments in areas other then Gedo and Galgudud. Every other Marexan I know talks about what they had in Xamar, and what they now have in Kismayo. Marexans in the diaspora, need to figure out how to best develop our traditional areas. The land in Bardhere, Luuq and El Wak, if cultivated nicely, could be a bread basket. That being said, I'll give MJ's some credit for developing Galcaioyo, but Bossaso, is ALL the work of Jalle Siad, in addition to Kismayo.

Bosaso was all the work of Siyad? What did he build other then a port that wasn't even finished? Huh? Dude it was a village, everyone knows that. We built it from scratch.

The port, which by African standards was state of the art, is where Puntland gets about 95% of its revinue. Bossaso isn't a tropical paradise. Its extremely hot, barren, and nothing grows there. However, its location, coupled with the ability of its port to handle huge amounts of shipments, is what makes it such a bread winner. BTW, its not like I see any skyscrapers in Bossaso. What else is there left to build, after the port?

The map was created by who? Wayne Durrill? Based on what sources?

Dhulbahante had nobody but few Habar Jeclo and mostly Habar Yoonis to their west. They were settled few miles south and east of Yiroowe. As far north as Jiidali. As far east as Garoowe and Xalin. Mareexaan always lay to the south of Dhulbahante.

Their Suunaari horses patrolled Carro Dhulbahante made up of close to 80,000 square kms. With no one but Fiqi Shinni inside their belly.
