Xamud brought forth something interesting. I'd like to delve deeper into this.
How come there are no tahriib activities on the Somaliland coast? How come there is no piracy at the Somaliland coast? What do our neighbours have, that we don't? I used to think highly of Puntland, but I now realize that Puntland is truly a paper state solely based on the advancement of, not even the clan, but the corrupt elite of that clan, instead of the noble goal of forming an autonomous state to be incorporated into a federal Somali republic.
People say that Abdullahi Yusuf's days were better, at least there was security and development under his iron fist. But his vast mistakes are now manifesting under Adde Musse, a weak and less principled man who is turning Puntland into the northern extension of the wretched south. Many of us don't realize that in the eyes of the international community, Puntland has become officially a no-go zone, just as much as the south. Somaliland is today officially the only relatively safe area within the Somali republic.
I know I'm being serious all of the sudden, but this has been bugging me for a while now. We need a shir.
