Daroods are Ethiopians. Ogaden region is populated by 7M Daroods from sub-clans of Abasguul, Baritire, Geri, Harti, Ogaden, Baalcad, Marehaan. et.

There is a feeling of Somaliweyn and will always be. However, a new political philosophy called Xabashiweyne is competing too.

I never thought I would see the day when some Somalis would get offended or down right angry when you suggest Ethiopia's government is no friend of the Somali people.

There\\\'s a reason we dont call it Western Somalia because it has no intrinsic meaning to us.Its just another named coined by a leader to rally up support.

Ok.Lets agree that ethnically and linguistically it will always be seen as Western Somalia by Somalis.But lets not kid ourselves into thinking that was/is the actual name of the place.
